Arrival on foot

Not common, but also not completely unusual, is the journey on foot to the Berchtesgaden National Park. The protected area right on the border with Austria is part of several long-distance hiking trails. And even from the Austrian Pinzgau region, several hiking trails and alpine climbs lead into the national park via the Steinerne Meer or the Reiteralm. For these long and demanding tours, a lot of experience and a good physical condition, good equipment and accurate maps are mandatory. Alpine dangers and the weather must also be taken into account.
